How I get my hair so bright

Some of you will already know the answer but I often get asked what hair dye I use, How do I get it so bright and have others that have tried using the same dye but not get the same brightness because they left the important bit out.
BLEACH! Although now I no longer use 12% peroxide to get my brightness, I now use XXL live blonde before adding colour.
Dyes I use are directions, manic panic, XXL live and the odd crazy colour.

Having hair this colour does come at the cost of my hand changing colour everytime I wash my hair, turning my white tops whatever colour my hair is if I wear my hair down (it does wash out) and sometimes my bathroom. Oh and my scalp! my scalp has often got pretty blistered during the turning my hair a white blonde process before colour, hence why I prefer to use directions, manic panic and crazy colour when it comes to adding colour as it doesn't have any chemicals in and is pretty much like a hair gel so can be slept in for better and brighter results AND less damage then two lots of chemical hair dyes would do.

Simple - spotless skin

I've been drying to get my hands on some of the simple range for ages now but
although they aren't to pricey I'm very tight on spending when it comes to myself so I'd look at the price and walk away. Especially when it comes to face wipes because in my house they end up getting used for everything snotty noses, little bums, wiping up spills etc
But while browsing online at Tesco as I had a £1OO gift card (thanks to sky) they had a lot of the simple range on offer for £1 and £1.5O's so I snapped them right up, there's others I have my eye on and in my basket ready to buy as I had to go in store to do my shop in the end with my gift card and they only had these ones in stock that I could see.

simple spotless skin - quick fix cleansing wipes
£1 RRP £2 which I'd still happily pay after using them. I really have noticed a difference in my spots from day one just like the packaging says.

simple spotless skin -rapid action spot zapper
£2.5O RRP £5 I'm yet to use this as my skin has cleared up so well with the wipes alone I've had no reason to but if the wipes are anything to go by this will be a god send.

simple spotless skin - triple action face wash
£1.5O RRP £3 Again I'm yet to use this but it seems promising with how well the wipes have worked.

Although these have now gone back to full price with Tesco they are on offer of buy one get on FREE! On until 9/6/2014

My mind is blown

I own many MUA lipsticks I noticed that sometimes the bottom showing you what colour it was ended up a little wobbly but thought nothing of it.
Today I introduced my niece to MUA products to which she contacted me once she had got home and had a play with her purchases and from that phone call my mind was left totally blown!
She asked me if I knew the bottoms of the lipsticks unscrewed and revealed a little pot of lipstick?
WOW!!!
Perfect for when you run out of your favourite shade but have a lippy brush.
Although for only £1 you could go and grab another but in my local superdrug you have to be really quick, it's so rare you'll find a full range of shades available!

Argan oil shampoo25Oml

I grabbed this beauty from my local poundland
It's on eBay ranging from £2.79 + £2.9O P&P to £3.99 with FREE P&P
They also have the conditioner on there which I'm intrigued about and would love to give ago
but I'll keep my eyes peeled for it in poundland first
They had some other argan oil bits in too but I only grabbed this for now.
I can't stand the feel of oily stuff!! so even this was a hit and miss for me but you can barely notice that it has any oil in, it just feels like a normal everyday shampoo.
I used it the other day and I don't know if it's the placebo effect because I've seen/heard the name argan oil pop up all over the place or because it is really good?
I used it along with my normal shampoo and conditioner using this as the second lot of shampoo after my original one first, The stuff I'm using is a new one I'm trying from wilkos
and it usually leaves my hair feeling a little bit rough
but with the argan oil shampoo used in between my hair feels really smooth and looks shiny.
You only need a small little amount for it to lather up, my hair is mid length and I only needed two little squeezes for my hair
I'm definitely stocking up if they have any left on my next visit

Have you tried any argan oil products?

Revlon - 220 Juicy Apricot

While in my local poundland I took a little longer to have a look at the make-up they had in
as I've seen their chit chat range pop up on a few blogs, I usually dive straight passed to the cleaning or themed isle they have
as always there was a hidden gem or two among all their chit chat range of lipsticks and lipglosses
there was some revlon lipsticks many shades of reds but I haven't worn red lisptick in ages so I didn't grab any of the red shades this time but I may go back for some as they are so cheap,
there was also this gorgeous peachy kind of shade, which I loved the minute I had a look!
So it went straight into my basket
The third picture is alot more true to the actual shade (I really must work on my photography)
I've gone crazy for peach, coral, nude and all sorts of lighter shades of lipsticks recently so this one is just perfect, I'm yet to actually wear this lipstick out as I keep forgetting about lipstick all together. I'm wearing it at the moment tho and I love the shade
These lipsticks come with a moisture kind of stick in the centre which smells like mint
I did grab a picture of it on but my skin is just horrific ATM

I also grabbed a sally hanson sugar coat nail varnish
but that ended up all over our tablet, my sofa and floor.
(I really must learn that leaving my girls for even a second is dangerous)

super bargain buy - o.p.i nail lacquer

Today I popped into the 99p store to get some more Halloween bits for the girls Halloween party, while there in there it started raining really hard so i went round to an isle to look for an umbrella but they only had the kind i'm scared of lol. While down that isle i came across loads of O.P.I shatter nail laquer in numerous colours I don't know if these are fakes or ones that are meant to be thrown, The bar code on the bottom has a pen line through it, I've never purchased O.P.I nail polish before so I wouldn't know if they were fake without researching online for abit but either way for 99p could I really go wrong? either way it's a bonus :)

H&M lip pen - REVIEW

I recently bough a H&M Lip pen while shopping online, I purchased it in the colour beige for £2.99
It also comes in two other colours being red & pink.

It goes on great there's no need to push to hard to get it to go on like alot of lip pens but it doesn't give you much colour but that could be because the colour I chose, After the pen falling out numerous times I actually decided to look in the tube and my one has snapped quite far down :(
It's often left in the lid leaving me with an empty tube and having slices taken out of it where it's getting bashed about in the lid, Which of course if I'm not expecting (it doesn't always fall out) it leaves it sitting in my lap.
For £2.99 I'd have hoped that the lip pen would have been abit more stronger then it is, I may give repairing it a try :)

L'OREAL paris FeRia Hair dye

Where do I start? My partner bought me this hair dye by accident when he was buying my XXL live dyes to get my purple back, this box of dye has sat around since that day as I only needed the one XXL purple to get the colour I wanted YAYYY!! So this one wasn't needed, We had a wedding to attend yesterday and I planned to wear my hair down my roots had got pretty bad so I thought I'd re do them and use this dye (stupid I know) Thank god we done all over and not just the roots because it come out the WRONG colour :( I am not amused at all it came out the colour the hairdressers gave me when I parted with £45 then fixed it myself and got the colour i wanted :'( so know i'm going to have to kill my hair some more getting my purple back!! This is why i haven't used box dyes in years after buying a brown and it coming out jet black.

this is the colour I've ended up with...

I am under that fringe somewhere lol

This is what i had before...
You can't really see much different in the bottom picture of me and Andy but the top picture of me and my girls is how reddish it is :'(

She's got a lip ring and 5 colours in her hair

In this post i thought I'd post about the many hair colours I've had, if you have any questions on how I achieved the colours please don't hesitate to leave me a comment :) These are in no particular order of when I had them I've had so many I couldn't tell you which order I had them in but here we go.....

The first ever bright hair colour i had, i am under that fringe somewhere :')

My rainbow which my friend done in her hairdressing competition, other people who had little tiny strips of rainbow where amazed that i was actually leaving my hair these colours.  As you can see from the pictures one side was pastels the other bright :)

After i bleached my hair so many times it was time to cut it all off as all the ends were completely dead and straw like :'(  So the only way to restore some health into my hair was to have a bob! One of the undercuts grew bigger and bigger until i ended up shaving the side of my head.

^ One of my fave colours that I've been Turquoise
Whatever shall i do with my left over colours when all my colour has come out and I'm left with blonde? Of course lets mix it up abit

I had these hair colours for about a week before my hairdresser friend came round and went crazy at me for putting black in my hair and she started to bleach it back out again, the brown didn't look very brown either tbh everyone was saying i reminded them of cadburys chocolate and that wasn't my aim.

I've had many more hair colours but if i post anymore pictures this pot could end up a page or two long.

Do you change your hair colours often?

So gelish really isn't for me

Freshly done

Just over a week old ^

Just after ripping a few of my acrylics off i ripped one a little to low down which meant i couldn't just go in for a infill or a take off and a fresh set :(
so i opted for gelish to help my nail repair from the rips and so i could still get things done as i can't stand the grated ruff feel of my nails once acrylics come off.
Anyway to the point I've had gelish for just over a week and my thumb one has chipped, first my index started lifting and peeled off, next was my middle finger
a few others are lifting off too :(
i guess I'm just to rough/heavy handed for gelish and it's acrylics all the way for me

did you get on with gelish?

Thursday, 6 June 2013

First time having Gelish

I usually have acrylic nails but i leave the infills for as long as possible but this time i left it just a little to long :( my nails kept bending making the ends near the cuticle flick up which makes me feel sick so as soon as a nail done that i bit them off (not a good idea i know) i really didn't have the money spare to go for my infill, so off came one.....

and then another one.....

As you can see in the picture the second ripped down just a little to far :( i could feel it hurting but because i was already half way there was no way i stopping then i noticed how far down it had actually ripped and freaked out like a total girl, anything lower than the first nail makes me feel really sick just the thought of it being that low down makes me cringe and if it touches anything, after days of having a plaster and trying my hardest not to touch anything with that finger i went and had them soaked off and had some Gelish on them to help me deal with getting on with day to day tasks (i can't stand the grated feel of the nail or how flimsy my natural nail is after some acrylics) my nails had grown to the same length as the acrylic and they were due a take off and a fresh set because the nail had started lifting away, I can't stand having naturally long nails the whole bending, splitting and tearing drives me nuts so when they were off they HAD to be cut down.

I feel so naked without my acrylics on :( although it feels good to actually feel my keyboard and being able to pick things up off the floor or side properly, Am i put off having acrylics? hell no as soon as that nail has grown back I'm getting those babies back!! If i could deal with naturally long nails I'd defiantly have gelish nails more often

AVON colourtrend liquid foundation in Ivory Beige

I grabbed this while it was on offer in an Avon catalogue a friend had dropped into me, I was pretty chuffed with it colour was a near on perfect match went on smoothly although it felt quite heavy compared to the body shop foundation i was using before i gave this one ago, so all was going well UNTIL my eyes were watering on the way home from the school run and i got into my mums looked in the mirror to check my mascara hadn't run everywhere to be greeted with white streaks down my face and neck now i can imagine your thinking the shade is actually abit dark and my skin colour was showing through but no it was as if i'd had talc on under my eyes and that had run down my face :/ when it gets wet be it watery eyes or run it turns into a white mixture which does not look great running down your face and neck. I have this eye problem often so almost everytime i wear this i end up with white marks down my face before the day is over :(

not the best photos to show you what i mean but i was at my mums after the school run when grabbing this photo

have you had a bad experience with any of the Avon colourtrend products?

Rimmel colour show off lipstick in 050 HAVE FUN

Finally used my Rimmel colour show off lipstick in shade 050 HAVE FUN, when it arrived it wasn't anything like the colour in the picture on the fragrance direct website and i wasn't sure if I'd ever use it but i love it!
I put it on before putting anything on to give my lips some moisture so they were a little rough but after putting this on they felt really soft and as if i had put something on previous to putting this on. I got this from fragrance direct for £1.99 it's RRP is £6.29 I'll definitely be buying more shades in  :)

please excuse my lighting it really isn't great so doesn't do the lipstick justice, it doesn't help the photos are taken on an iphone :/ i will grab another one in better lighting when i get round to putting my face on soon :)
