Our Bedroom's Having A Makeover

For ages now my bedroom has just not been what I wanted it to be, My furniture doesn't match and it's just blurgh.. I shut the door so no one see's it because it currently looks like the room that's been unpacked and temporarily set up because you've just moved in and needed somewhere to sleep but we've been here coming up to 4 years

So it's time I turned it into my perfect little safe place that I'm proud of so what better way to inspire me to get my bum in gear and get it started? Than to put a mood board together of little finishing touches based around the new wallpaper/paint plans. 

I've been showing and talking to Andy for months now about what I want the room to be like and just had the typical man 'yeah' reply to everything I've said, He caught a glimpse of what I put together and was very pleasantly surprised and seems very excited for it to come together so with that being said I ordered the wallpaper while his excited in hope when it arrives the transformation can begin.

I've become metal shade obsessed I want copper and brass accessories everywhere! 

As I share a room with a man the new style seems fitting for us both it's not to manly but not to girly either it's a nice happy medium and the grey means I can chuck any colour in there and it won't clash to much, something that can't be said for my current green room.

With Christmas on it's way I'm sure everyone is already sick of seeing wishlists but as I know Andy takes a peek at my blog every now and then it's only right I drop him some hints!

Is it just me with lists full of stuff for the house when it comes to christmas and birthdays since having my own house? 

With so much cute stuff on the next website its hard not to want half of it for your home, Everything looks so cosy and cute.

I've been after a Marc Jacobs perfume since laying my eyes on it, I have no interest in the actual perfume as I've never smelt it but I just need one of those gorgeous bottles in my life if the perfumes as gorgeous then bonus! 

Who doesn't love a new handbag and a fresh pair of boots?

I had a pair of quilted boots like this from Primark and I loved them but I wore them so much they ended up with fronts like Zippy's mouth as tempting as it was just to glue them back together it really was time to let them go.

Wedding Gifts - Ebay

As I'm attending a wedding on Saturday I thought I'd put together

some gift ideas that caught my eye and would love to receive when I get married (even tho I don't drink champagne or hot drinks)  But how cute are those glasses & mugs.

Cheap and cheerful finsihing touches - Girls bedroom

With the girls bedroom redecorated AGAIN! I thought I'd share with you some of the cheap and cheerful finishing touches that really makes their room.

(It's yet to be wallpapered but I need to grab it and nag Andy enough to do it)

Each of these items cost me no more than £5 each!

Don't compare your behind the scenes life....

With other peoples highlight reel!

I'm really guilty of doing this I'm forever looking through instagram and blogs, getting sad at how everyone's kids room seem to be so perfect, how they are able to have little things on display in their living rooms and kids room without them being destroyed, how perfect and immaculate their houses are. I read this quote out to Andy 'Don't compare your behind the scenes life with other peoples show reel' and he had the great idea of making a blog post out of it and our behind the scenes.

It's a quote I really must remember when I'm getting down about how perfect everyone else's houses seem compared to mine

 Of course I and many others only upload the best bits and the tidy bits of the house, manage to get a photo without getting the stain on the carpet/rug in.

 I'm sure I'm not the only one that's guilty of having that ridiculously cluttered corner?

pen marks up my walls all around the house?

little mucky hand prints all down my back door windows?

the understair cupboard piled high with all sorts because out of sight out of mind?

a pen/paint stain on the sofa?

Kids bedrooms that are a wreck until you finally muster up the courage to go and tackle it?

A washing pile that's bigger than it should be? 

A tv cabinet that has pen marks and drink stains all over the top?

One thing we are guilty of here is if there's space on it we will fill it, I want a dining table but I know it will just become another place to throw crap onto! we have a fold away one but it's barely used because it always has some kind of crap on it, The dogs cage forever has something thrown on top of it. 

 one thing that is a regular in my house is that every wall but the girls bedroom that is wallpapered has that one little thin strip missing, My bedroom still has this strip missing ^ Because I refused to buy a whole roll at £1O or so for that one tiny strip? Luckily my wardrobe is HUGE and hides it perfectly, My living room has a strip missing again I'm not buying a whole roll for the tiniest strip but my door hides it, My landing has a strip missing but I have the wallpaper for it but also have a hubby that isn't in a rush to finish that little strip and a stairway with the tops unpainted because I can't reach it.

 Daisie felt her room needed these lovely black crayon marks all over the wallpapered wall.

These won't be covered/redecorated until we know for sure she's out of her Picasso stage.

On instagram I do tend to share the new art all over the walls, the state of the girls bedroom but I do get pictures of the girls in the tidiest bit of the house without the clutter.

 Looks pretty homely and near enough perfect right? ^^ 

It stayed that way for the night, the corner with the hoover is now cluttered with all of Andys bike stuff and notice the reflection in the tv of my old wallpaper still standing on the other wall? That's now gone but when my living room was at its most perfect to me it was still unfinished. 

One thing your guaranteed to find in my house is some kind of bike part 

So remember

makes me wish I had more rooms in my house so I could have them all :(

Each one in my picture is an option for the girls room once I've redecorated (again) I just need to decide which shade and which lamp to go for.

The rabbit may have to go in my room tho as my girls are little destroyers and will have the lamp off and the rabbit in half within minutes of it being bed time.
