Pumpkin Patch '14

This year rather than buy our pumpkins from Asda I wanted to do something a bit more special, So this year we paid our local pumpkin patch a visit.
Visiting the pumpkin patch will now be a yearly thing it's just so much more magical/special than just grabbing one from our local asda and it's a morning/afternoon out of the house, The girls had so much fun having a hunt through and picking the perfect pumpkin!
We ended up leaving with 4 me not quite knowing what a kilo is was more than happy to grab some more little ones, £1O later the 4 we'd picked were ready to come home with us, So it cost me abit more than what a trip to asda to grab some would have cost but you can't put a price on fun can you?
Once we got home we had a cooked breakfast/lunch with the sausages and bacon we got while we were there and spent the rest of the day watching films.
PERFECT Sunday!
I can't wait to drive and make a trip to the farm shop a weekly thing, I can see it now heading out while the girls and Andy are still snoozing or in tow to go and get the veg for our Sunday roast.

Andy filmed our trip to the pumpkin patch right up to carving one of the pumpkins so keep your eyes peeled for the link if you wish to have a watch.

(Daisie is smiling and not crying I promise)

Autumn bucket list - Ghostly garland

You'll need
- Toilet roll tubes
- PVA glue
- Toilet roll
- Googly eyes or black paint

This is the perfect crafty fun for the run up to Halloween :) I thought the name fit perfectly too
I haven't come across this on pinterest yet but I won't take any credit for it just in case this idea is floating around on the internet somewhere.
I grabbed some smart price toilet paper to make them out of and saved every empty toilet roll tubes we had, the left over toilet roll will be used turning some daddy's into mummy's at the Halloween party on Thursday :)
Daisie wasn't to interested after awhile but Issy loved getting stuck in and me being a big kid LOVED doing them.

Hello October!

I've never been soooo excited for Halloween before now that my girls are older and can enjoy it :) This year we are having a little Halloween party for the girls. So i've been hunting online like a mad woman for fun little treats I can make up food wise for the party as well super fun games. I came across an amazing website called ourbestbites there's so many cute & simple ideas loads I'd never even thought of doing. They cover all sorts of ideas/recipes such a great website.  Here's a few I plan to make up for the girls party.

Use chocolate pudding for your mud and put some crushed oreos on top for dirt. Hide those gummy worms in there for eeek factor!

slice hotdogs and drop them into boiling water for just a minute or two and they’ll curl a bit. Dunk them in some bbq sauce and you have slimy worms :

Cut crescent roll dough into thin strips and wrap around hot dogs. Bake according to crescent package directions and use ketchup or mustard for eyes. I cut my hot dogs in half to make them bite-sized.

You’ll need marichino cherries for this one. Make sure you buy ones with stems. Drain them and dry them well with paper towels. Dip in almond bark, or chocolate bark. When they are semi dry, attach a chocolate chip for a nose, slivered almonds for ears, and little candies or sprinkles for eyes

DISCLAIMER: I take no credit for these ideas all credit goes to ourbestbites
