My Ragdoll 2O years on

There's nothing better than seeing your kids love something you loved so much as a kid, it's even better when it was the actual one you had as a child.
I got this rag doll when I was around 2 years old and she was a fave of mine, Issy spotted her a little while ago in my room while we was having a girly night with my friend and instantly fell in love with her and named her Ellie :)
It's safely in my wardrobe for now as my girls can be quite distructive and I can imagine her coming back to me with her hat and dress ripped off so for now she's safe and sound in my wardrobe.

Do you have a toy that was once yours that your little ones now love?

Family Fun

I really haven't got as many days out and things done as I'd have liked through the holidays so far :(
The girls had picked to go to Pizza Hut for lunch on weds so that was the plan UNTIL my mum let me know the bus to get there no longer takes cash.
So that turned our plans upside down as we don't have the card you need so we re-arranged for when I can grab one, So we headed to the cafe on the way Andy suggested quietly out of ear shot of the girls we should go to the park and feed the ducks.
Through out the whole lunch the girls were none the wiser and when they finally asked what we were doing next we told them we were off to see a man about a banana LOL
All the way there the girls were hunting for a man with a banana, even once we were on the field they were still hunting then it dawned on them what was going on when the park came into sight :')
While there we went on the pedal boats I was amazed how well behaved the girls were, they have a rule of adults only in the front which left the girls behind us which I think is crazy!!
We planned to have one in the front with Andy and one in the back with me so we could keep a better eye on them but they sat so well :)
A little while before we were called in the heavens opened but we stayed put and enjoyed our time on the boats, Our boat liked to leak every time you pedaled with a bit of speed which resulted in me getting a soaking wet bum, Thank god the rain didn't last to long and the sun decided to show its face and it dried pretty quickly, As this wasn't a trip planned before we headed out the girls played in the small park area for a little bit then it was home after the girls had got their ice creams.
We'll be returning again soon for more fun on the boats, the water park area and a picnic

Ah the terrible two's

You've just got to love this stage right?
The terrible two's have recently arrived, I suppose we were quite lucky as more often than not it's usually before they've even turned two that they start.
Daisie's at that stage were you daren't say the word no or it's a fall to the floor kicking and screaming situation, Bed times a great game of musical beds to play jumping into her sisters bed as she's trying to sleep, she's worked out how to open the bedroom stair gate so she likes to come down and let us know how proud she is that she done it, If she asks for a drink/food it has to be her way and immediately if you've altered it in anyway or ran out of her favourite juice/snack your going to know about it, take something off her shes not meant to have is a throw whatever is near by and then herself to the floor, If she wants it she MUST have it even if her sister had it first

Writing this I realized she might sound like a really spoilt little moo but trust me she is told no
and the naughty step is being introduced now that she understands what its all about

Fun christmas ideas

Something great to do with your kids or grand kids for Christmas season. Buy 25 books, wrap them and place them near the tree with a fluffy blanket and stuffed toy to cuddle with. Every evening they get to take one of the books and open them and you spend some time reading to them and cuddling.

I can't wait to give each of these a go :)

DISCLAIMER: I take no credit for these ideas, each I came across on facebook through friends sharing them.

Bucket list - Making a autumn tealight holder

You'll need
- A jar
- Plenty of leaves
- PVA glue
- Gold glitter paint (optional)
any extras you wish to add

After seeing a autumn tea light holder on pinterest I think it was I couldn't wait to give it a go with the girls.
It's the perfect little thing to do this autumn it doesn't take up a huge amount of time and there's hardly any mess unless you wish to add some colour of course, I recommend to use the leaves shortly after you hunted them down, I grabbed some and left them for a few days but they ended being so dried out that they wouldn't stick to the jar at all, So today I grabbed some more on the way home from the school run and they stuck a whole lot better :)  Not only are these perfect for the autumn around the house (the idea is once a tea light is in the jar it will glow all the lovely autumn colours of the leaves) I grab as many colours & shapes of leaves as i can to add some variety. They also make the perfect hand made gifts for nanny/grandmas, aunties/uncles, grandads etc

Things to do this summer...

Being England there is no guarantee that this weather will be staying with us for to long but here's just a few things I'd like to do this summer....

Go strawberry picking, i don't like strawberries and neither does Issy but Andy & Daisie do so they'll have plenty to eat when we are done :) for free entry and £4.OO per KG it's a pretty cheap day out as it's just up the road from us

Go to London zoo, I've never been before it's quite pricey once you add it all up and then there's train tickets but a little bit of saving and we'll be able to go :) I will NOT be going anywhere near the butterfly part

Go to a farm, I have two choices of really good farms although I've not been to one I've heard a lot of good things about it, one is free entry and you just pay for some of the rides being the hop farm, then there's Christmas tree farm where you pay  £2 for kids and £4 for adults and get to feed all the animals I took Issy there when she was younger

Go to a beach, Of course its free but our problem is as none of us drive we have to rely on trains and most beaches are an hour or two away on a train and some you have to get two trains and with a 2 year old a train ride that long can get pretty stressful

Few trips to soft plays, There's a new huge one that's just been built in our favourite place to go swimming and just beside it there's a bowling alley so two trips in one :)

Go to London aquarium, The sun isn't really essential for this as it's indoors but it's never fun to get on a train with a buggy loaded up with coats and brollies

Adventure Island, Great little theme park for kids with a beach just next door but in a car it's about an 3O minutes or so to get to by train it's 2 hours :/ I'll find a way there some how :)

Do plenty of swimming, Again the sun isn't essential for this one but it's so much better getting out the pool with wet hair and not being freezing or worrying about drying your hair before you head home

London dungeons, this one is of course more for me so the kids won't be attending this one as it seems pretty gruesome in places for a 5 and 2 year old to be going

Is there anywhere you fancy going this summer?
Any recommendations on places i should check out in and around London?

Daisie joined the library & Issy had her sports day

Today i took Daisie along to the library (not that she needs to go to the library the girls practically have their own upstairs in their book box) before heading to Issy's sports day while we were there i joined her up got her own little library card and she got her a little bookstart bear club booklet that includes:

- a little passport where every time she goes along and gets some books out she will get a stamp once she has got 6 paw print stamps she gets a certificate
- a bookmark
- a poster with nursery ryhmes in
and some little finger puppets :)
i wasn't aware they still done this sort of thing, back when Issy was Daisie's age i used to take her quite regular and she done a bookstart book crawl, i have her certificates on my kitchen cupboards :)
So I'll be taking Daisie quite often while Issy's at school and collect Issy from school and we'll all go together.
Today Daisie took two books out being peppa pig baby alexander and Raa Raa the noisy lion Let's play together, she's happily sat and read them with both me and daddy today before bed.

Today Issy had her sports day, she's been abit poorly over the weekend so i wasn't sure if she would be going into school or if she would manage to stay awake during the afternoon but she managed it all :) She did say this morning her belly still hurt so she couldn't go to school but as soon as i mentioned she wouldn't be able to go to nanny's either she made an instant recovery and shot out of bed :')
she done super well in all the tasks of her sports day, shes the only one in a blue bib in her team because she was originally in a blue team but another little girl was upset and wanted their teacher (who was leading Issy's team) so she swapped over to cheer the other little girl up :)

Is this really happening already?

So not only is my Daisie doo's turning two in July, I also have a next steps meeting at Issy's school on Thursday because she will be going up to year 1 in September!!! It's crazy how quick it's all gone, although Issy didn't seem to grow up as quick as Daisie has this has all come round so quick, it only seems like a few months ago i was at the meeting getting all the booklets and ordering her school uniform for when she started in reception. she's turning into a little lady now, she has her own opinion when it comes to how she would like her hair, what shoes and clothes she will wear and not wear, she's like a mini teenager already we bicker like teenage sisters. Both my girls really aren't babies anymore

I swear someone has put Daisie on fast forward :(

I'm sure Daisie's been put on fast forward :( she really didn't stay my 6lb 4.O5oz baby for very long!
as soon as she was 2 months old she was ahead in sizes where as her big sister always has been behind a size, I don't remember Issy growing up as quickly as she has :( Daisie's turning 2 on the 15th July but already looks about 3 half the time, she looks huge in her stroller so I'm on guard for the stares and whispers of 'what she still doing in a buggy' that people love to come out with. It really doesn't seem that long ago i was preparing for her to arrive, she was babbling away, still on bottles only and bum shuffling all around the place, now she doesn't have much growing height wise to be near enough as tall as her sister (who's 5) she's running around, can have conversations with you, has her very own personality and all sorts where have my babies gone :(
