Halloween Toucan Box

I'm still having problems with Toucan being able to bill my card for our monthly boxes (gutted)
I have the same problem with Graze too :(
So when I went to collect a parcel I had missed while out on the school run I was so excited to see a toucan box among the pile. I was hoping being October it would be a Halloween themed craft and YAY it was!
Me and Daisie didn't hang about as soon as I had checked a christmas present that was in the bundle and hid it, Daisie called me about getting started so we did just that!
It was such a simple craft I'm planning on stocking up on some supplies that were provided to make some more to hang around the house.
We were both very pleased with our end result, I need to grab a picture but it's gone missing as soon as I find it I'll update this post :)

You can sign up to get your own toucan box (first one FREE) by following this link  - https://mention-me.com/m/ol/gtx-linda-ewing

Our First Toucan Box

Today our first toucan box arrived, The minute Daisie saw the box she thought it was her graze box love her but she couldn't wait to dive in.
As this was our first box we got it FREE
we will without a doubt be sticking with our subscription of £3.95 for the petite box you can upgrade to a grande box for an extra £6 a month (£9.95) we will upgrade to the grande one day.
When you sign up there is a number of themes for your box to choose from in two different age groups 'early years foundation stage 3-5 years old ' and 'key stage one and key stage two 5 to 8 years old'
with each box you get a sticker to add to your toucan box prize chart
which you can then exchange for a gift once you hit a certain amount of stickers the first being 5 or save them up to get yourself an even bigger gift.

Our first box was about jellyfish!
On the back of the little booklet/card to tell you how to make your jellyfish is some little facts about jellyfish, Did you know jellyfish aren't actually fish? or that they don't have brains?
There was enough craft stuff to make two jellyfish so you can race them, Issy will be decorating and making her jellyfish when she gets home from school then let the races begin!!
Daisie's having so much fun getting her jellyfish to move up the ribbon.
As you can see in the photos Daisie used some star stickers we had lying around the house but everything else you see in the photos is supplied by toucan box.

Easter bucket list - Decorate plant pots

Today we got to tick another thing of our Easter to do list and got the paints out again to decorate some plant pots.
Such a cheap and fun thing to do my pots cost me £1.5O each for a 23cm pot from wilkinsons
I plan to go back and get a few in different sizes as the girls had so much fun painting them, Daisie is still to finish her's but we have plenty of time to add extras to it :)
I love how the girls were total opposites and Issy painted in brights while Daisie painted in pastels.
I plan on getting some more this size and doing hand print tulips on them but today
I thought I'd let the girls go wild and do whatever they wished to do and it was a total hit Issy was asking could she finish Daisie's so next time I shall be grabbing extras.

What you will need
- plant pot
- paints
- paintbrush
- some clothes you don't mind the kids getting messy in

Have you been up to some super cheap crafts this Easter holiday?

Easter bucket list - Pasta necklaces

Please excuse the quality of photos my partner used my camera last night and decided to let me know the battery was low when I turned it on to a 'NO battery' alert :(
So the trusty phone camera had to do.
While preparing a home made macaroni cheese the other week it hit me that using the pasta to decorate and make necklaces/bracelets with would be a great cheap bit of fun.
So today we gave it ago out in the garden as the weather was nice and they could make as much mess as they liked.
I grabbed some penne pasta too while doing the food shop just to mix it up and have the option of two different shapes, feels, length etc.
We finally got to give our ELC paints and a go and the colours are soo gorgeous!

You'll need
- string
- paints
- glue (optional)
- glitter (optional)
- macaroni pasta
- penne pasta

Do you have any cheap crafts planned for the Easter holidays?

Haul - ELC paints

I'm either a very brave mummy or a very silly one buying this lot, After my living room and dog being painted blue the other morning my little Daisie works so quickly & quietly it's scary.
Within in seconds she could have the whole living room turned upside down without you hearing a thing even tho your only a few foot away in the kitchen (We have a latch from the kitchen to the living room)

Anyway a few posts down you'll find my creating a craft cupboard post, ELC had their 2O% off arts and crafts offer and I just couldn't help myself with the paints down to 8Op I just had to buy them all, a few were out of stock :(

I will get clearer photos with my camera when I get a chance, One of them glows in the dark and it looks AMAZING put it into a little bit of darkness and it's glowing away!
This little lot cost me a total of £14.75 including delivery :)

A very nice start to our crafts cupboard  I'd say

Colour me playhouse

I've seen these little houses all over instragram, So when I spotted them in my local Aldi I just had to get one for the girls, I was torn between putting it away for Christmas or letting them have it now as you can tell I was far to excited and gave it to them now :) They still haven't finished colouring it in a little while after starting it, the house fell silent for an hour and a half I had a peek in the house and both girls were glued to the tele. All tho it's made from cardboard it has kept my girls super quiet. I got abit carried away and coloured some of it in but I had to stop or Daisie wouldn't have any left to do on her side it's just so much fun. It may end up in the bin soon with it being cardboard and my girls being like bulls in china shops or if bear will actually go in it will become her little house. This has to be the best £7.99 I've ever spent.

Please excuse the bad quality photos I  grabbed them from my instagram

Crochet

God do people make this look easy!! My hooks finally arrived today so I gave it a shot, I have a book I got out from the library but it's all so confusing and two balls of wool I got in ready for when my hooks arrived. I'm managing to do the starting stitch with no problem but I'm stuck there :( It doesn't help I haven't picked a granny square pattern I'd like to learn and stuck to it, I keep trying what ever looks easy. My wool seems so small compared to all the tutorials I've watched (I asked if I could crochet with it when I bought it the woman said it's fine to crochet with) I sat with my aunty and she showed me how to get a pattern going but as I'm doing it I'm still ending with the beginning stitch I done that looks like a plait :/  instead of moving outwards I'm still going upwards.

Any recommendations of a simple granny square I could start off with?
